Inheritance

Deut 18:1-5

The Levites were specially called out to be servants of God and His people. All things of service to God and His people was their responsibility. They were given cities to live in, but no land was given to a Levite as an inheritance. Their food came from the tithe that the people brought to the Lord. God told them their inheritance was Himself.

The Levites had to totally trust God. They would not have their own land, or their own means even of making a living. Their living was in the service of the Lord.

If our faith and trust for salvation is in Yeshua and what he did on the cross for us, we are in the same calling as the Levites. We're called to serve God. Depend totally on Him. That does not mean that we don't work, but we understand that He is the provider no matter what we do. If we're trusting in Him, He provides the place of employment and we are good employees. If we're doing all that we know to do and are trusting in Him to work it out, He will. It may come about differently than we think, but He will provide...as long as we are dependant on Him and not our own abilities. We do have an inheritance, and it's eternal.

Act 20:32 “And now I entrust you to the care of the Lord and to the message of his love and kindness, for it can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who have been set apart for God.
