If We Do The Will Of The Father, He Will Supply All Our Needs!

There is much uncertainty in our world today and so many are gripped with fear as they find their once "normal" lives drastically changed. With the possibility of sickness that could lead to death, hoarding of supplies, isolation, potential loss of employment, and life savings vanishing it easy to understand why. Moreover, we know the people of this world who place their daily hope in these things have no other place to turn. Jesus told us, "For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them." (Matthew 6:32). The good news is the true servants of the kingdom of heaven have nothing to fear and should not worry if their focus is where it should be. Jesus said, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33).

However, this is not always the case in the lives of those who claim to know Christ. Is this because they lack faith? Have they just forgotten that the Father will supply all of their needs? Is it because they are not seeking the kingdom of heaven first? Or, is it because they are not in Christ at all? Well, it could be any of these, but no matter what the reason it should not be this way if we are living by faith. One reason for this reaction in true believers is because they lack spiritual growth. You see, once we become a new creation in Christ, we become ambassadors to serve the kingdom of heaven. Most new believers dive right in and experience the Lord using them in many ways right from the start. They begin to learn what they believe God has purposed for them in this world. They often call this their ministry and stay focused on doing this work until they are called home to heaven. But, what if the Lord all of a sudden change's things up because the father in heaven wills it?

There are many who already have and who will face this dilemma in their walk with Christ. Regrettably, if they are not sensitive to the Lord, they quickly could find themselves travelling down a path alone and away from the direction the Lord actually wills for their lives. For example, our daily ministry could become such a pattern that we follow it religiously. Let's say one day the Lord tells you to turn left at a point you have always turned right? You might think, "well, that can't be the Lord, I always go right here and I can't see why He wants me to go left now." Then, because you do not believe you should go left you stay on your normal path and go right. At that instant, you are no longer yielding to the will of the Lord, but instead you are now trying to do what you believe you should be doing for the Lord. Things have now shifted in your life from being the Lords ministry to YOUR ministry.

This is far more common than you think, and when it happens, it is so important to realize you are no longer doing the will of the Father as quickly as possible. However, if you do not get back on the path the Lord desires for you be prepared to experience some real problems. We know that the Father will supply ALL of our needs according to His riches and glory. However, only if we are doing His will. Therefore, the moment you decided to turn right when He was telling you to turn left, you were no longer in His will. Consequently, in our own strength and with our own resources it is possible to continue down the old path for a while. However, it won't be long before you start wondering why the resources and support you once enjoyed are no longer there. This is when people usually start complaining and pointing fingers at others who they depended on for these things. Telling others that they lack faith or are not giving enough. Too many of today's ministries are ensnared by this trap and try to keep their efforts for God going without realizing it is not God's will at all. Many who are reading this have seen this first hand in today's local church system. However, since it is no longer God's work (it is their work now) they need to supply their own resources. It is so much easier when we just trust the Lord to guide us day to day.

Therefore, be careful to let the Father do His will with your life. It is His work that matters and not according to your understanding. We call that walking by faith. If you are doing His will you NEVER have to worry about where the resources will come from. The Lord will always provide what is needed if we place our faith in Him. Think about how He multiplied the loaves and fish, and did this more than once. Remember when Jesus told Peter to drop his nets to catch fish even after Peter claimed there were no fish. Peter quickly found his nets full of fish once he chose to obey the Lord. Remember, we have nothing to fear and we need want for anything if we remain in the will of the Father. "And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen." (Philippians 4:19-20).
