I Am Not Worthy To Untie His Sandals

'He is the One who comes after me,the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie' (John 1:27). John the Baptist did not even consider himself worthy of untying the sandals of the One who came after him. He made it clear that Jesus was the One who came after him and He was the Messiah and worthy of all the glory! He was willing to live for the Master and faithfully did, revealing Him to the people. He was also willing to die for the Son of God and from prison he was taken to his execution. His head was chopped off to satisfy the whim of Herodias the illegal wife to Herod. John had opposed the relationship and died for truth. His head was delivered on a platter to the authorities. Jesus referred to John the Baptist as the 'greatest one born of a woman'. The humility of John the Baptist was amazing. He was faithful to the Messiah to the end.
