You can pray for people. "I'll pray for you." Is that enough? To what extent should we care about others, on here, at work, at home, with strangers?
So we obviously "care" more about our close family, our loved ones. Are you willing to go the extra mile, like the Good Samaritan? I must admit when I see someone break down on a freeway, I feel sorry for them but don't stop. I've heard too many stories about people being mugged or even run over.
Do you care for others at work? I try to keep a respectful distance, but my "care" level is limited.
I sometimes feel fake care abounds. "Sorry to hear about your cancer." Even well-meaning words like that sound fake to my sensitive ears. And I know that person means well. Maybe better to say nothing. It's like we want to sound "caring" at least.
There is a part of me that thinks we all only care about ourselves. Even if our partner is dying, we think about "our' life without them, instead of their death. Sorry if I've upset genuinely caring people here.
