YouTube - And Then There Were None - Reinventing Robert Cohn

Amazing music! Music like this I could dance to all night.
At first I didn't like the lyrics, what I could understand of them from the official video (of which I only partially like, only their playing part).

Then, when I read the lyrics, it came across different (the full lyrics are on this link's page). When they're read, it sounds more like a struggle. The song sounds like about temptation. How it's trying to get this one guy and how alluring it is. Yet, it seems he is wrestling & struggling with it, not quite giving in. It's like he knows its not good for him, but the temption keeps pulling at him. I thought it wasn't so great, like "Well he should just make a statement of overcoming " Then I heard the horrible new Mute Math song, that has nothing redeeming in it. In that song the guy is chasing after it, wishing for the worst.

In comparison, ATTWN's song if it is just about temptation itself (and how it works) it is a pretty deep and accurate song. If it's just about the guy or both- it definately could be better.

"You know Ill just forget it if you give me a chance (One more time.)
I cant desire something if it just isnt there
It just isnt there, it just isnt there, it just isnt there, it just isnt there."

"She doesnt know who I am"
At first one could take that line the usual way. But, I don't think so ( I don't take it that way). The guy writing this is a Christian. I take it like- temptation & or the one connected with that doesn't understand that I am part of another kingdom (God's royal kingdom) and I'm not just going to go along with\give in to this like others have(hopefully not succomb ).

Oh this is good...
first he says-"Shes in my blood, and like a fire inside me."
ha then it becomes-
"Shes in my blood, in like a broken glass"
... thats how it is, great imagery.

As for any tie to me, I am wrestling with the fact, that, like Paul talks about leaving the past behind (good and bad) and pressing forward. I know I just have to go forward. It's easier to repeat something than go for (or even hope & wait for) something new. I just have to put whatever I'm feeeling, where it belongs- now (in the now). And, then let the Holy Spirit do "his thing".

The lead singer looks like a young Don Johnson, nuff said about that ....
