The other day, I was studying and reviewing about basic EKG. A fascination swept over me as I started to understand how the heart functions. I began to see the handiwork of the Creator. Do you know that each minute the heart pumps out normally about 4-8 Liters of life sustaining blood?
It stayed with me a couple of days, the awe of it all. Going through the motions, sometimes it's easy to forget that we are blessed to be alive.
At work, when something goes array in a patient's heart rhythm, I get a call, "Check on your pt in room ----!". I feel my own heartbeat race in anxiety, praying all is well. The moment I reach the patient, relief sweeps over me...a lead was loose, or the telemetry machine's battery died down.
I sometimes wished there was a way to see what's going on in my heart, in a Spiritual sense.
But it didn't end there...He is alive, He rose from the dead...listen to His heartbeat...

23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139: 23-24.
A thought swept my mind as I meditated, the same heartbeat I feel, Jesus felt. I pictured Him in my mind, His first heartbeat was for mankind and so was His last heartbeat. Emotions struck me, can you picture it, up there in Calvary? Can you hear His heartbeat stop? 23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139: 23-24.
