1 Corinthians 2
He Brings To Us The Spirit Of The Father
He Brings To Us The Spirit Of The Father
Present Your Bodies
As Living Sacrifice Holy And Acceptable Unto God
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. —Romans 12:1 (KJV)
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. —1 Corinthians 2:10-12 (KJV)
Since the Holy Spirit has the same Spirit of the Father, and since He resides in us, He will convey to us that Spirit, which will help us in prayer.
The best gift a good and wise earthly father can bestow on a child is his own spirit. This is the object of a father in education—to reproduce in his child his own disposition and character. If the child is to know and understand his father, if he is to enter into all his will and plans, if he is to have his highest joy in the father and the father in him, he must be of one mind and spirit with him. It is impossible to conceive of God bestowing any higher gift on His child than His own Spirit. God is what He is through His Spirit; the Spirit is the very life of God. Just think what it means for God to give His own Spirit to His child on earth. —Andrew Murray
It means of course that we will gain the same heart of prayer that He has, the same burden of prayer. It means that He will show us His mind and His thinking toward us, and that He will give us an understanding of our salvation—our justification and glorification and all His wonderful mercies toward us. Thus, as the Holy Spirit conveys to us the Spirit of the Father we are enabled to pray according to the Father's will and according to the Father's loving heart.
