A few thoughts of why we celebrate this day
So as we know Christmas is about.. Santa Claus, Presents, Getting together with family you don't bother to help all year long and act like you still love them so that the kids can think that there's no problems the rest of the year. Maybe some drinking. and Turkey. There could be a war going on in Turkey. But more importantly its about the fattened, hormone and antibiotic fed bird unless your blessed enough to not even consider the meaning of the word. Shop organic, Cuz we all know that having normal god given food is a Luxury that wasn't something we remember being normal. To think we're closer to the day of Soylent Green and they still haven't made a remake.
Songs about snow, and mistle toes and snowmen, very romantic.
But Easter hmm..
Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yes, three days after he was executed and crucified after being sentenced to death by what Mel Gibson portrayed as torture and made a mockery as an example of what happens to those who fight for justice and question authority to put the masses in fear by the Roman Empire.
He rose from the dead. Good Friday was not that good of a day Jesus died.
Certainly it was a day of mourning. Now I don't know if there were bunnies, or hunting for little treasures, or baby chicks but the apostles were amazed to see their Lord and Savior come back to life just as he said he would. And Thomas was in disbelief to the point that he had to touch Jesus Christ to believe that it was him. But He had Risen and asked for some food cuz I'm guessing he was hungry not having eaten in three days. Afterwards He ascended. This doesn't happen very often. Apparently the only other person who did ascend out of this fallen world is Enoch. That's a whole nother batch of bananas that need some time to make for a humorous anecdote.
