Good Enough for God

Do you ever feel like you aren't good enough for God? Do you feel that your life is filled with things that God wouldn't want you to serve Him, or that He wouldn't think you have anything to offer?

If so, think on this:

Noah was a drunk.
Abraham was too old.
Isaac was a daydreamer.
Jacob was a liar.
Leah was ugly.
Joseph was abused.
Moses had a stuttering problem.
Guideon was afraid.
Elijah was suicidal.
Rahab was a prostitute.
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young.
David had an affair and was a murderer.
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer.
Isaiah preached naked.
Jonah ran from God.
Naomi was a widow.
Job went bankrupt.
John the Baptist ate bugs.
Martha worried about everything.
Thomas doubted.
Zaccheus was too small.
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once.
The Disciples fell asleep while praying.
Paul was too religious.
Lazarus was dead.
And so the list could go on.... I don't know who started this list, but they definitely were on to something. God uses us where we are. He will provide us with what we need to be used, if we are just willing to be used.

Sin is sin, and we all do it. My sin isn't worse or better than yours in God's eyes. Please join me in giving our lives to Christ to use us as He sees fit, as He needs us.

I love the following Psalm, as David pleads for forgiveness after committing adultery. The scripture that follows shares that we are given forgiveness through the Grace of God. He will use us for His glory. Be encouraged. You are loved! You are needed! You are worthwhile!

Psalm 51:1-12
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
