"this youtube clip has gone viral"
we hear that phrase very often these days.
Does it ever occur to you that the word "viral" might be inappropriate?
I've suffered a virus. It can lay me low for several days.The word "virus" only conjures up negative feelings about something that is basically invasive and even can be life-threatening.
So my suggestion is find another word for it.
"this youtube clip has become "massively popular in a short period of time" is my suggestion.
