God's Will Revealed

What is the intent and purpose of God's will? Is God's will revealed to us in Scripture? God's will for His creation and His people is written in the Law and the Prophets, which is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. God's will is that His people be faithful and obedient.

God's Will Revealed In His Word

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Samuel 7:21 (KJV) 21 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

1 Chronicles 17:19 (KJV) 19 O Lord, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.

Psalms 103:20-21 (KJV) 20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. 21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Colossians 1:25-26 (KJV) 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

1 John 2:4-5 (KJV) 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

God's Will Revealed Through The Law

Exodus 18:15-16 (KJV) 15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: 16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.

Exodus 24:12 (KJV) 12 And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

Deuteronomy 30:16 (KJV) 16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Psalms 119:43 (KJV) 43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.

Romans 7:12 (KJV) 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

1 Timothy 1:8 (KJV) 8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

God's Will Revealed Through The Prophets

1 Kings 22:6-7 (KJV) 6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?

2 Chronicles 18:5-6 (KJV) 5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand. 6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?

2 Kings 3:11 (KJV) 11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may enquire of the Lord by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Jeremiah 42:3-4 (KJV) 3 That the Lord thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. 4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the Lord your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the Lord shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

Ezekiel 12:25 (KJV) 25 For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God.

Amos 3:7 (KJV) 7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

God's Will Revealed In The Apostolic Gospel

Acts of the Apostles 20:27 (KJV) 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Galatians 1:11-12 (KJV) 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
