God's Faithfulness In Team Ministry

After six years in our first pastorate we were invited to take part in a team ministry in a suburb of a large city. There were three pastors in the leadership team. God provided a Council house exchange and we moved into a three bedroom house, not far from the church facilities. I was working as a lorry loader for an upholstery firm, thirty miles away and traveling to work on a Honda 125. It was winter and I slid on black ice and sold the bike and was unable to continue in the job. Unemployment gave me time with my family and time to serve,in the area we were living. In, the Easter of that year,my mum and dad came to stay. It was wonderful that they had committed their lives to God before I went to Bible College and were attending church. On that Easter Sunday they received a phone call that my Grandmother, who was in a nursing home, had died. I was due to speak that morning at the church and mum and dad said that nothing could be done immediately and that they would return home after the service. It was my privilege to minister the Word of God on Resurrection morning believing that Nan had gone to be with the LORD. I was unemployed but blessed during that time and able to bless others.
