God's Faithfulness In Our Village Hall

In 2001 New gospel meetings were being held in our Village Hall and my wife and I started to attend them. Sunday morning and evening and Tuesday evening Prayer and children and Youth Groups. It was good to be able to walk there in ten minutes and enjoy fellowship with other Christians near where we live. We discovered though that they were advertising their meetings as 'Non Charismatic' and did not believe that the Gifts of the Spirit are for this day and age. At work one day a friend asked if I knew that another Postman was a Christian and I did'nt,but spoke to him and he said he was. 'Where do you fellowship,'I asked. 'I'm Pentecostal',he said and mentioned where they met in a town nearby. 'Come and hear me preach!' I went and enjoyed it. The following week my wife came and the week after that my daughter. It was a Church of God of Prophecy, mainly Black Jamaican people, but open to all people. They warmly welcomed us. So we left the Baptist Church in the middle of 2002 and joined with them. It was liberating!
