God Is....

The King James Bible never uses the term 'exists' when speaking of God. Rather, it speaks of God in this manner; "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

It is not that saying 'God exists' is wrong. God exists in the sense that He has being and the being of God is central to our faith. Yet to speak of God as possessing mere being may not lead us to consider all that we should consider about God.

The phrase 'He is', in the Greek, speaks of continuance. It is similar to the great 'I AM THAT I AM' of Exodus 3:14 which also speaks of continuance. God is; He is in eternity past, He is now, and He is in eternity future. He does not change, indeed He cannot change, for change always speaks of becoming better or worse.

God is not now what He once was not and He will never fail to be what He is not now. God is absolute throughout. His word cannot fail. God is true. He is faithful. His love does not dwindle and His promises are never reneged upon. God is God, yesterday, today and forever! That is the certain hope of all who place their trust in Christ!.
