God Is!!

Does God exist? That is, does He have being? Yes! But the Bible (KJV) never uses the term 'exist' (or 'exists') when referring to God. It says, quite simply, that God 'is' (eg. Hebrews 11:6).

This term goes far beyond the mention of God as a mere being. It is equivalent to the great I AM THAT I AM of Exodus 3:14. It is understood according to the revelation of Christ Who is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, who is and was, and is to come, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8 and 11).

To say it another way, God 'is' in eternity past; God 'is' in the present; God 'is' in eternity future. Nothing of God can ever change because He forever 'is'. This is great assurance for the believer. God's promises are certain and His gifts and callings are, indeed, irrevocable (Romans 11:29; 2 Corinthians 1:20).

Is it improper to say that God exists? I do not think so. Still, saying that He exists does not, necessarily, speak to the supreme qualities of God in the same way that the ever-present 'is' does.
