God Is Not A Man That He Should Lie...

I pray we see something critically important here. If we are battling a specific controlling or addictive sin, what do we do? We fight directly against it. For instance, if one is battling alcoholism, you avoid liquor stores and bars. If you have friends that are heavy drinkers, you try your best to avoid them so that they will not influence you, right? All good advice, but..... does it really work? Oh, one may stay sober this way, but what of the desire to drink? It never, ever ceases, does it? And one slip up, and there we go again, spiraling downward.

And why does this path always end in failure? We are balling the wrong enemy. When God tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, have you ever thought that can apply to us as well?

Satan has toyed with us long enough! It is time we finally wised up and battled the real enemy.... unbelief. You see, God has told us, as clearly as He can, that we are no longer in the flesh and owe it how much? Nothing.. Nada. Nyet. A big fat ZERO. Glory!

But what happens if all these things are true but we do not believe them? Do they do us any good? Sadly, no? And why is that? Because there is a principle that God can and will not alter.

“According to your faith be it unto you.”

You see, when we finally step out in faith and belives that we really are no longer fleshly old natures creatures, but that we are actually new, and that sin has no legal hold on us, satan’s main weapon, lies, has been defused. So when God tells us to put on the whole armor of God and then to take the sword of the Spirit, His written word, and our shield of faith in the promises He makes to us, we have finally started fighting our good fight of faith. And I make you this promise. If you hold fast, no matter what, and always return to confessing His promise of victory for you, Satan knows that his time of bully you and stealing your lunch money is officially over.

Oh, children of God. He knows our weaknesses. But do we know His strength? If not, we are about to, and our days of wandering in the wilderness are officially coming to a close. Are you ready for some victory? Some rest? Hold tight to your God and dare to take Him at His word. We will not fail you. It simply is not in His DNA..... or yours!

Blessings,

Gideon
