Referring the the same show as the Jeremy's Bus blog ( Jeremy's Bus | Christian Forums ), Gao Mei Nu (and Mei Nan) was an orphan (seperated sometime before the show) and training(?) to be a nun while her brother is trying to get started in AN*JELL. Gao Mei Nu finds out she needs to replace her brother for about a month(?) and does not want to leave the convent. Mother Superior is told this by Gao Mei Nu and (Mother Superior calls her Gemma, I guess a nickname) suggests that Gemma go see the world. Mother Superior encourages Gemma to go (I don't think she knew all of it just that Mei Nu was needed outside) I think to grow as a person, exposed to new people learning to love people and learning things that you can't learn by rote (if that makes sense).
I have wondered if that would help me to grow as a Christian, maybe why I love learning languages, so I can meet people all around the world and love humanity in a godly way and "...he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." (I forgot where that is if someone can help.) Through language learning I am making friends in other countries which I think will help me empathize/sympathize with the general people when things happen that "don't affect me" but do affect me because of godly love.
Again the show:
