I like relationships where you can have fights but still recover. You may have said words in the heat of the moment that you regret. But actually it is good to have that freedom to be angry in the heat of the moment, without the other taking it personally. I called a work colleague a "grumpy old *******" yesterday. But even now I think he deserved it. He was out of line rude and controlling. I had to say something. In the context, I think it was Ok to say it. But we get on pretty well otherwise and as guys can move on. I don't think God wants us to be doormats. He wants us to value ourselves as He created us in the first place.
Some say, you should just pray when someone is out of line rude to you. OK it probably works but I think it is better to say how you truly feel, if the context allows you to.
Nothing worse than holding past grievances in your head, as you deal with "cold wars" in the present.
