First Aid For Thought Attacks

If you cant lie the person in the recovery position, get them to at least relax by sitting in a comfortable chair.
Reassure them that everything is OK now. That they are not going to lose their job, become homeless, wifeless, go to prison or be unable to afford toothpaste for the rest of their life.
Get them to write things down, all their thoughts unedited in any order. Don't worry about coherency. Blogging on the net is one idea that works for some.
Nurse their bruised ego. Alternate with ice and warm loving compassionate "I see. I see. I totally understand." phrases. This should calm them down somewhat.
Check up again an hour or so later to note progress.
If all else fails,call 000.
