Faith In God

"Because in God they believed not [they relied not on Him, they adhered not to Him], and they trusted not in His salvation (His power to save)." (Psalm 78:22 AMPC)

When Jesus was addressing the disciples on the issue of faith, He asked them to have in God (Mark 11:22). Faith in God is the foundation of our walk with Him.
"But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]."(Hebrews 11:6 AMPC)
Anyone that want to cultivate a relationship with God must belief in His existence.
The Israelites under Moses' leadership did not belief in God. Miracles, signs and wonders by God could not convince them to belief, rather they continued in their unbelief.
The church must not be tempted to think that miracles, signs and wonders will bring conversion. They only make the unbelieving to continue in their unbelief and at best ask for more to satisfy their lusts. However, the acts of God strengthen the faith of believers in Him.
Jesus oftentimes bring people to a place of having faith in God before performing miracles. Faithful preaching of God's word causes people to develop faith in God. For faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God.
The Israelites' lack of faith in God caused them to distrust His ability to save them. Are we different today?

ACTION PLAN: Why are we serving God? Is it because of miracles, signs and wonders? Let us check our hearts and repent!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let faith rise in my heart after hearing Your word.
