Experiencing The Word: In The Beginning

EXPERIENCING THE WORD
IN THE BEGINNING

At the beginning of my journey as a small boy raised in a Christian family the first few words of the bible that I knew by heart were the words, "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". I don't know if this beginning for me was also the beginning for many boys and gals of my age who happened to be raised in a Christian home like I was. And i don't know if those who were not as a privilege as myself to have Christian parents started their own journey, after conversion, also from the book of beginnings, the book of Genesis 1:1.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light"(Genesis 1:3).

These were the first few words in my first bible class, they needn't be memorised, for my Sunday school teachers emphasized over and again this portion of the scripture until it became part of my heart! No need for memorisation, it came to me as a revelation and it went straight into my heart: God started it all even though no one 'started' God!

The emphasis of this scripture was clear, God who had no beginning and has no end, began the beginning and created the world we live in today! It was the first lesson I needed to learn as a young christian boy, God was and is at the centre of it all. He is the alpha and the omega! But this was not the only scripture that talks about the beginning. In John 1;1 there was another!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not"(John 1:1-5)

The book of Genesis 1:1 tells us the beginning of the world but before the beginning of the world there was the beginning of the word. This we found in John 1:1. In other words before the world there was the word, the word was what birth the world! Hebrews 1:1 tells us this. The wonderful word created a wonderful world. The lovely word created the lovely world that we live in today. And when this written word becomes the spoken word it transforms into the living word. In other words when we have the word and then speak that word,
the content of that which we speak becomes the living word that shapes our world!

The revelations of the word when spoken shapes the manifestations of our world. Hence we need the word!

Beginning from February we will experience the word so that at the end we can experience and enjoy a lovely world. From here on it will be a wonderful 2019 for you! Amen
