Experiencing The Word(3) - Value The Word...

What we value is what adds value to our lives! For anything to deliver its value it must first be valued! The worth of anything we do in life is first determined by what value we attached to that particular activity, thing or relationship! What gives value to anything is our sense of value for that thing. I will use a spiritual analogy here to drive home my point and it’s from the many stories of Jesus. We will read in the book of Mark 5:21-34. It’s a long read but please read the word with me!

‘21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

What a story we have here, Jesus was on the way to the house of Jarius to raise the daughter that was at the point of death and in the process of that journey a woman came in the press behind, touch Jesus and she got her miracle! Now read the story again and pay attention to the words of the scriptures that I emphasized above, there were multitudes with Jesus but only a certain woman got her miracle! Now wait a minute, does this mean all the multitudes that were with Jesus have no need for one form of healing or the other? Certainly, in that multitude there are diverse people with diverse problems, but alas only one person experience the flow of God’s virtue which always deliver value!

The woman said to herself, ‘if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole’, what a faith-full and value-full conversation in her heart about the power in the word! And note this that the conversations in our heart defines our experience on the earth! She knew the value of touching the master and that sense of value provoked the release of virtue! And here is the message, and this insight came from Peter when Jesus exclaimed that someone has touched him, but Peter argued, we are all thronging you! Herein is the difference then, the woman was touching the word while others were thronging the word! It was the same activity, but the ‘VALUE-FULL’ conversation in the heart of the woman separated her apart from the rest, her sense of value was what provokes the release of virtue! What she valued added value to her world!

When you value the word the word will add value to your world.
