Ever-present Helper

"So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance." (Romans 8:26 AMPC)

The Holy Spirit, whom we received at new birth, is a Helper. He is standing by to help us all the time if we ask Him for it. He is ready to help against our weaknesses. The methods of handling challenges we were used to as unbelievers cannot help us now. We must deliberately seek the help of the Spirit of God, He is ever present and will give us a way out. We must cease from leaning on our own understanding, we have to consciously trust in Him in all our ways.
Our effectiveness in the place of prayer also depend on Him. We must trust Him to help us to pray. He understands our need more than us. He also know how to ask for them in a way that will touch the heart of God and receive answers. As humans, one of the most difficult things for us is to rely on another for help. We tend to love self-sufficiency, but the power of God is available to break down this tendency in us and make us a people that totally depend on God.

ACTION PLAN: Self-sufficiency is an enemy is of spiritual growth. You need to be deliberate about being God-sufficient all the time.

PRAYER: Father, break down my self-sufficiency and make me depend on you all the days of my life.
