Evangelical Motives

There seems to be confusion when one sees the word "evangelism" in connection to a church or faith. Some evangelists are as fundamental and conservative as you can get, while others are quite liberal. Evangelize means spreading the word, but just whose word and motive is being spread, God's or man's?

Again, to evangelize means to spread the word (good news/gospel) and of course that could be anybody's word and not the words of God/Jesus. Consider that Jesus said His only gospel was the Gospel of the Kingdom. Is that one everyone preaches? But according to man, it could be anything ranging from one tinged with politics and prosperity to a gospel following faiths within Christianity. So just like "organic" or "green" labels on foods, it is just a word used to portray an impression, but not necessarily descriptively or completely true.

Consider how in the military that survival is often a matter of accepting an order without thought. But someone had to think first to create that order. Many churches also want you to take their orders and not think. It must be reliable as it's called tradition after all. This in many cases is not about your survival but theirs. You should know by now how the world works. Some reading this are thinkers and some followers.

If we are to take what Jesus said about spreading the Gospel as evangelizing, then what immediately comes to mind is not doctrines of any church using the name evangelical in whatever form, but of what gospel it was we were to spread. Jesus was quite clear. What does this say?

Mark 1: 14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Matthew 24: 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Nothing there about church ideals/doctrines using the evangelical name. To make matters even simpler He refined the meaning of spreading that gospel to simply sowing the seeds, and not interfering with God's will (the HS) in how they grow. Something to consider when discerning evangelical motive. Think, don't follow.
