Ephesians 2 -- I Will Make Of Thee A Great Nation

Exodus presents the Israelites in bondage in Egypt. When God promised Abraham to make of thee a great nation the fulfillment of this promise involved them becoming slaves in Egypt. That is who God used to make this great nation. The slaves are the ones who do all the work, they are the ones who make the country run. Whatever is about to come on us is no worse than where we came from. Only this time it will be easier because the Lord has led us through this valley before. Ephesians 2 says we were formerly dead in sins in the world. Exodus shows how the Israelites were delivered from Egypt to be God’s people. Ephesians 2 talks about how we were made to sit together with Christ in the heavenlies, not of ourselves but it is the gift of God. In Exodus we see the Passover feast, summing up God’s deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt, in which they are made to sit together with Jesus (the empty seat). Exodus ends with the tabernacle being filled with God's glory. Ephesians 2 ends with the church being built into a habitation of God filled with God's spirit.
