  1. I got the job! :D I start in one week, my training might be a little rushed since they are short-staffed. I am excited, but also having mental and spiritual struggles. A number of bad thoughts, especially when I try to read the bible but do not really want to. I am four days behind in bible study.... Back to the job, the pay is less than standard minimum wage (by that I mean $7.25, not that they're doing dishonest business) but I keep my tips, which I am thinking it will be the system of if you don't make up to minimum wage in tips the company will pay the difference. Maybe not, but it's okay. I will make enough for a starting job, I won't need a lot until my last year of college or if things go well until I graduate. The workplace is ~10 minutes from my house and the managers seemed completely fine with me taking Monday and Wednesday for school (and Sunday mornings for church). They said I can take days off no questions asked if I let them know at least one week in advance. I am not sure if I will get a Sonic visor or headband as part of the uniform or if it is something extra. I braided my hair for the interview, and I like the way this feels. I know physical appearance is not the most important thing, but the weight I feel and how collected it feels is nice. It's not hitting me in the face or all in my lipstick. :) I am kind of thinking of private video blogs/vlogging. Maybe video files saved to my laptop, or privately locked videos on Facebook, or my phone's camera roll. Preferably the laptop, though, and purely for my own purposes. I have a bit of homework, and a lot of bible reading; I am also spending more time on CF again even though I intended to step back a bit. So, I guess perfect time to get back stepping back (not leaving still).

Like my manager got mad when a customer caused some trouble but not mad at me because I did what I was supposed to, and not what the people said I did. So he didn't yell at me about why I did what I did not do.

Oh yeah..you'll have some crazy people u dealing with in customer service...good for you not bending to their will. Do you wear the skates? :)

It sounds fun but no I am afraid to trip and spill something on a customer.

Congrats on the job. And good luck. Just be friendly, you'll get your tips. Regarding bible study, just keep getting up and proceeding. Perseverance. Same with school work. You'll make it, young lady.

Cool, man! My first job was a fast food joint, too. Work can be a blessing, and help one focus on things beyond personal mental tensions. Plus, you get to meet cool people. Some of the nicest folks I come into contact with work at fast food places. Think of your job as a chance to serve people, and have fun.

Congratulations on the new job, DeerGlow. Try to have fun with it. In college, I worked as a bellman for a time. At times, the tips were good.
On a side note, which language learning website(s) do you use? I was searching through your old posts to find where you discussed this.

Mainly Duolingo, Memrise and specific apps for ASL and Japanese with that. I also have several bravolo dictionaries on my phone between English and other languages.
