I have just watched a programme about women who bring children into this world without a father through donor sperm.

It made my blood boil and I didn't know whether to weep or put my foot through the TV screen as I have never come across such a lot of selfish women whose only concern was for themselves. How it would affect the children did not enter their head.

The common reply by the children present was the same. Everything is OK but.....and the main "but" was having no father. God give me strength.

If a child is meant to be raised by a biological mother and father for the best outcomes for them, OF COURSE, a woman who selfishly gets what she wants without any regard to the child is going to raise a child that says " yes but..."

One child's "but" was that it really hurt on Father's day. Of course, it is going to hurt if all your mates are celebrating a doting Dad and all she has got is nothing.

Apparently, donor sperm is an industry these days, put about by sick men who like to spread themselves around. I have read that some of these men have provided 20 kids to these unmarried women.

And these women don't seem to care that their child has got 20 half-sisters and brothers and the fact that the poor kid is wondering what their half-siblings are like. Most of them on the programme wanted to meet some of these half brothers and sisters because they are wondering. In other words, they don't really know who they are. I could see it on their faces. "Who am I."

The discussion went on to discuss what they are going to do about unused embryos. Not sure even if I am too old to have kids anymore. After all, they are kids so I can't get rid of them or donate them to science.

No doubt about it these women are number one and everyone else can go to hell because all that matters is what I want.

A couple of kids were asked what they thought about being a donor sperm child. Same reply. Well if it was right for mum it must be OK.

One was asked would they do the same. Reply. "No way." At least that child did not think that the world revolves around them, unlike her mother.

And that just about sums it up. Mum is the centre if the universe.

Such a programme shows what a sick world we live in. The new God of the universe is me, myself and I, bugger (that is an Australian colloquialism) everyone else. If I want it I am going to have it and everyone else can go stuff themselves.

Of course, I realise someone is going to say " but what if the mother can't conceive?" In this programme that wasn't the issue. As one woman so eloquently put it being a single mum I don't have to worry about another person being involved in the raising of the child so I can make my own decisions. What was good for the child was irrelevant.

It is another case of crying out " Stop the world I want to get off."
