Deeper Walk: A Spirit Life Devotional(from Somewhere Deeper)

TODAY'S TEXT: "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful"(1 Corinthians 14:15)

We are still using the same scripture we use for the last installment of this series because we will still be dwelling on the subject of the unfruitfulness of the mind when we are praying in tongues.

Praying in tongues is a spiritual bypass from the double-mindedness of our mind, directly connecting with the heart of God for the manifestation of supernatural results on the earth! It is because of this foregoing thought that really I don't desire to understand what I am praying in tongues. In this realm of communication, the spirit is communicating mysteries to the heavenly, mysteries that if understood by my mind may be cast aside through fears and doubts, and hence the result disturbed or denied because of the lack of faith on my part. Remember what the word says in the book of James 1:5-8

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let, not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways"

What our mind can't believe for our spirit can speak in mysteries to God and obtain supernatural results on the earth. This is the beauty of praying in tongues. The double-mindedness and wavering nature of our mind is bypass and direct access is established with God, mysteries are spoken that brings great and effectual result on the earth!

People have often asked me how do I know I am not speaking gibberish or nonsense when praying in tongues. How do I know this is really coming from the spirit.? How do I know I am speaking in mysteries to God There are two practical pieces of evidence. The first is experiential evidence while the second one is scientific. The experiential evidence is what we experience on a regular basis or a day to day basis when we pray in tongues.

Have you noticed that each time you pray in tongues your mind is still able to process other thoughts and other things you want to do? Have you noticed that your mind can still wander on other things, thoughts or subjects? Though the mind needs to be rein in during this time still it provides the evidence that we need: and it is that the language of the Spirit is not been processed from the mind, they come from somewhere much deeper, from the Spirit realm of mysteries! And it's because your mind can't decode this operation that is why it wanders during your moments of praying in tongues looking for other things to dwell upon!

It is possible to speak and think at the same time. As a public speaker when I stand to speak, my thought is still able to think, but only in line with the present subject am talking about. So if I am talking about faith, at the same time while talking my thoughts can be processing other materials based on the subject of faith. I can't be speaking to a group of people on faith and I am thinking about my family at home, if I do at one point I will lose track of my talk or my thoughts! However, while praying in tongues you can do both!

You can pray in mysteries directly to God while your mind is wandering and wandering on other things around you because your prayer in tongues is not coming from the natural realm of your natural mind but from somewhere deeper in the spirit! From this deeper realm, you are speaking mysteries and your spirit is communicating directly to God! Hallelujah!
