It's been a long time of writing the POWERTALK blog and it felt a little bit strange not writing for that long as it's been two years since the first article on POWERTALK was published and broadcasted. In that period POWERTALK hasn't been off the 'grid' for this long until now. The times and seasons of our lives will never be the same, each one comes with its unique blessings, opportunities, and challenges and we must all be ready for these when they come. But in all, it's great to be able to get back on penning and writing God's word as it is revealed and thank you all for reading and sharing the word. The last few months calls for a needed break, but now it's good to be back and from here we want to go on a long spiritual marathon of the sort as we rev up spiritual momentum for a spiritual explosion! Today's word will serve as an introduction to the subject of, DEEPER WALK: A Spirit life devotional
Some times the Spirit of God drops words in our hearts, and the word I have heard lately was that of a spiritual honeymoon. Now, what is that? A scripture to reference here. Exodus 24:15-18, "And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights"
Here Moses was with God for forty days and forty nights, all alone with God on a spiritual honeymoon of sorts. And in the next seven chapters the conversations and instructions that God gave during these 40 days we're penned in Exodus 25-32. Their spiritual intimacy of 40 days brought new spiritual instructions both for Moses and the children of Israel. However by the time Moses got back the children of Israel had veered off on another road seeking other gods! Hence the coming back of Moses was with judgment. People were asked to take sides, God"s side or the other side, on this day about half of the children of Israel that left Egypt were destroyed. This was the result of Moses's first spiritual honeymoon with God. However, because of what happened after the first one, Moses needed to go for another 40 days in God's presence.
Now read Exodus 34:27-30, "And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread nor drink water"
Here were another 40 days with God, another 40 days of uninterrupted fellowship and spiritual honeymoon with God and Moses came back all radiating God's glory. All along I thought Moses had just only one 40 days and nights with God but no that wasn't true. Moses had two 40 days and nights with God making 80 days! The first 40 days produced the instructions documented in Exodus 25-32, while the second 40 days produced the 10 commandments! But you see the point is after 80 days of been with the Lord, Moses' face began to radiate and carry God's glory that mere mortals could not begin to look unto his face, his face had to be cover in vail! From here I see what a spiritual honeymoon is: a time of consecrated separation unto the Lord for the purpose of spiritual intimacy and this spiritual intimacy ultimately produces spiritual changes that effects you and your world. Today most of the world's constitution have been shaped by the ten commandments that Moses received, most are based on it!
This is what can happen with a period of spiritual separation in our lives, it can produce spiritual instructions and revelations that can shape generations after! This is what happens when we seek a deeper walk with God, we are transformed in a way that the effect of such brings transformation to our world. I called it a spiritual honeymoon with God, this spiritual honeymoon produces spiritual intimacy. Spiritual intimacy is the basis for increased spiritual capacity, for the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. And the more this people seek to know their God the stronger they become and the more exploits they can do(Daniel 11:32). Hallelujah! Going deeper with God takes us higher in life! The result of a deeper walk with God is greater works on the earth. Daniel 11:32 that I quoted above tells us this much that exploits has it's root in knowledge. Now, this is not just book knowledge but experiential knowledge of the power of God! We develop spiritual capacity on the platform of spiritual intimacy. This spiritual intimacy is the hallmark of our Christian walk
