Prayer And Worship: How Do We Approach God?
Psalms 15: Who Shall Dwell On Your Holy Hill?
- The Character Of Those Who May Dwell With The Lord: The way to heaven, if we would be happy, we must be holy. We are encouraged to walk in that way.
- The Glories Of The Messiah And His Bride: This psalm is a prophecy of Messiah the Prince, and points to him as a Bridegroom espousing the church to himself, and as a King ruling in it, and for it.
- Thanksgiving For God’s Righteous Judgment: The psalmist declares his resolution of executing judgment. (vv. 1-5) He rebukes the wicked, and concludes with resolutions to praise God. (vv. 6-10)
- The Lord’s Wonderful Works In Behalf Of Israel: A solemn call to praise and serve the Lord. (vv. 1-7) His gracious dealings with Israel. (vv. 8-23) Their deliverance from Egypt, and their settlement in Canaan. (vv. 24-45)
- Praise The Lord’s Wonderful Works, Vanity of Idols: God to be praised for his mercy. (vv. 1-4) For his power and judgments. (vv. 5-14) The vanity of idols. (vv. 15-21)
Proverbs 15: Contrast The Upright And The Wicked
- The Fear Of The Lord: The fear of the Lord will dispose us to search the Scriptures with reverence; and it will cause us to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit. While we humbly place all our dependence on the grace of God, we are exalted in the righteousness of Christ.
