Covid(8) - Christ Over Virus Infections And Disease - What Can We Believe God For(2)

The Lord wants to send forth the rod of his strength out of Zion to rule in the midst of her enemies, but Zion is so much at ease.

Psalm 110:1-3

"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make Thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth”

And Zion's response to this divine agenda should be that of willingness and not easiness for the Bible says that in the days of his power His people will be willing. The attitude of spiritual willingness which is proactive and combative in relation to divine agenda is the expected response of the church and not easiness.

Our spiritual journey is a journey of sacrifice and self-denial. Those who are at ease will never be at peace! For from the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and only the violent taketh it by force! Our spiritual heritage is secured on the platform of spiritual violence. Woe always betides those who are at ease in Zion!

Amos 6:1 says, "Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!"

No wonder Jesus clearly spelled out the terms and cost of discipleship to those who will follow him. He said in Luke 14:26-27,

"If any man come to me and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple"

Our very lives must be on the line if we are to follow the call of God! This very moment and hour God is calling on the church to put on her strength! God is calling on us to believe much more and take up the spiritual sacrifice needed to birth his glory on the earth.

As will conclude this discourse on WHAT CAN YOU BELIEVE GOD FOR the story readily comes to mind of a great Apostle that was relevant to the birth of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria, of a man named Joseph Ayo Babalola who according to church historians and people who lived close to this prophet of God, fasted for most of his life. Long days of fasting and prayer are the norms with this great Apostle and Prophet. On one of such of his journeys to pray on the mountain while he was praying, he heard some movement in the bush and towards his direction and as he would later discover, it was that of a big python!

As it's expected of a natural person he wanted to look back at what was moving and he heard God's voice telling him to be still. There and then the snake moved through the body of the prophet and left not sooner than it appeared. Afterward, God asked him to open his eyes and he saw a dead snake burnt as if hung on an electrical pole or wire! God told him as he looked on in astonishment that He has paid the price, now he is empowered to rout all the powers of the enemies! Hallelujah!

What can we believe God for as believers today who have been promised to see greater works? I mean this generation has been prophesied as the latter-day saints posed to experience the latter-day rain of God's power! In God's agenda, this is supposed to be the 'unlimited' generation of believers who will fill the whole earth with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in demonstration of signs and wonders! We are the generation destined to walk in greater power and torment Satan and his kingdom. But here we are deterring and hesitating during a momentous opportunity in history!

What can we believe God for or not? There are three things or more that I believe determines the answer to this question.

1) THE LAZINESS OF THE CHURCH HAS PUT A LIMIT ON THE POWER OF GOD. This laziness has been triggered off by what Paul warned against in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God"

Paul said the gospel I preached and lived is that which has a power base and proved by the demonstration of the Spirit, and so, therefore, let not your faith be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God! And this is where the 21st-century church errs; the wisdom of men seems to trump the power of God! The present covid-19 crisis has brought this to the fore more than ever! We trust the guidelines and the precautions of the health organizations more than we trust in the power of God! And this should not be so! Yes, we are to stay safe but much more we are to stay FAITH - FULL in that word that says no evil shall befall us neither will any pestilence comes nigh our dwelling!

Our faith should be in the revelations of the word and not the precautions from the world. Yes, we are to observe them, but none is enough to get us through this time on their own. A friend, Dayo Adeyemi, a great man of God who leads an army of men called THE CATALYST MEN NETWORK INTERNATIONAL, wrote a small piece a few days ago which comes handy here. He asked the following questions.

"Is there no sanitizer in Buckingham palace? Why is Queen Elizabeth the queen of England positive?

Is there no sanitizer in Downing Street? Why is Boris Johnson the British prime minister positive?

Is there no sanitizer in Clarence house? Why is Prince Charles the Prince of Whales positive?

Is there no sanitizer in Rideau cottage, why is Sophie Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian prime minister positive?

Is there no sanitizer in the Palace of Monaco, why is Prince Albert of Monaco positive?"

He concluded by writing, "By now we should know that human strategy of being careful ALONE won't save us. We must go beyond our strategy of telling people to #Stayathome and adopt the strategy of #Prayathome. The arm of flesh will always fail only God fails not"

Praise God, the wisdom of men may fail but the power of God will prevail! This is more than a virus at war against our destiny but the power of God will prevail.

In the movie CONTAGION, 2011 which plays out what is happening now, one of the leading health personnel in that movie outlined how one of the best ways to predict the movement of the virus is to ask the people to not touch their face, mouth, and ears in addition to all the hygiene measures required like washing of hands and all that. And as quickly as she pointed this out she also adds by saying that it is a tough ask not to ask people to not touch their face as an average person has the tendency of touching their face 3000 times in a day! And to a certain extent not touching your face in a day is a tough ask, though we all try to do our bit! And this is why we must elevate God's power at this time, it must be more important than all other things!

What can we believe God for? We can believe God for anything as long as don't place a limit on what his power can do and that takes me to the second point
