was Mahatma Gandhi who said, “God will dare not appear to a hungry man except in the form of bread". In other words, it means God appears to people relative to what they need per time. Relative to their situations and circumstances and if you read through scriptures you will find this to be true. When the disciples could not catch fish all night God became the supernatural fisherman who caught fish during the day for them. A woman was carrying her dead child to bury, Jesus stops the burial procession and raise the girl back to life.
The peculiarity of our needs determines the manifestation of God in our lives! God has the ability to meet everyone at the point of their needs. And during the hour or the time of needs, we are told what to do.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us,
"Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need"
This is the world's greatest hour of need as day by day it seems humanity is growing helpless against the scourge of this demonic virus of coronavirus raging and destroying the lives of men, women, and children all over the face of the earth! But we can lift up a standard in the place of prayer!
Isaiah 59:19b tell us that "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him"
The flood of covid-19 is ravaging through the lands but through prayer, we can lift up a standard against the enemy!
When the evil spiritual flood comes against us there is a spiritual standard we can lift by the Holy Spirit to stem its tides and its waves. This negative evil waves will be swallowed up by the power of God! One way we can do this is through PRAYER!
When the Apostles felt threatened by the evils in the land during their days. They were told not to preach. The cover-19 is threatening our lives by the day, it has told us not to touch our neighbours, hug them, play outside, walk outside, or worship together.
"And now, Lord, behold their threatening: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness" (Acts 4:27-31)
As soon as they prayed, God responded by sending His Holy Spirit and that imbued everyone with boldness and power to challenge the authority of those who threatened them. That's what we need this hour, as we pray, expect an outpouring of the Spirit that will strengthen your heart, embolden it to speak authoritatively to the evil in the land. This day God will pour out his Spirit upon the land!
First, let me say here that there is no limit to the scope of prayer in changing the affairs of men. The scope of prayer is everything and anything! Jesus said in Matthew 21:22, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive". The only limitations to the power of prayer on the earth are the limitation of the faith in our hearts! When our faith becomes unlimited in measure prayer procures unlimited results on the earth. God is not limited, only the doubts of men limit the power of God.
Look at what the Psalmist says in Psalm 78:9
"The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle."
We have so much in our spiritual armoury to turn the tide against every evil in the world but believers today are turning back. Someone told me to leave God out of this, and that's a believer, for according to him these are real-life situations. Someone says let's forget God and work towards a lasting solution, in his mind, a scientific solution, forgetting that science creates nothing. Every scientific discovery is first a product of God's creation and then revelation. Everything science has discovered to date was first created by God! Every drug used in the world was made from what God first created!
God can grant outstanding discoveries through science that will end this plague but much more God can sweep his hand over the face of the earth and the plague begin to die. We won't choose for God which to do but in prayers, we can move his hand to do something now!
The Israelites had enough spiritual armoury to engage God, but when the day to test the weapon came they turned back in battles and by that they limited the Holy One of Israel.
"Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel" (Psalm 78:41)
From today we will "unlimit" God's power on the surface of the earth. We will cry to him in prayers and he will flood the heart with His Spirit and power!
