I am hoping that this particular blog post won't be as long as the others before it. That has always been my intention ever since the covid series started, however, God has always given words, knowledge, and understanding that I have always felt compelled to capture at every sitting and at one writing. I think one of the great mistakes we have made as a generation of believers is sacrificing depths on the altar of brevity! I have been told, make it bite-sized wisdom for people to read. Today I wonder maybe it's this bite-sized wisdom, listed as one to seven, or one to ten, that is responsible for the shallowness and lack of power that we see in our generation!
And if there is any generation that needs depth, power and an overload of the word and overflow of the anointing, it should be this generation! For in God's prophetic agenda, the deeper we move into the latter days of the latter days, the more God will pour out his Spirit on all flesh for greater exploits. And in the same breath, the devil knows that he has but a short time and so will do more wickedly in these last days.
From scriptures, the Bible tells us some of his prophetic agenda for the last days,
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it" Isaiah 2:2 KJV
In the last days, ALL NATIONS shall flow to Zion. ALL NATIONS shall come to know the Lord. This portends the greatest revival that will usher in the end of times. For if you remember Jesus in Matthew 24:14 says this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to ALL NATIONS and then shall the end of come! So therefore from scriptural prophetic equations, it means that in the last days, just at about the end of times, ALL NATIONS will sing the name of our God! In God's agenda, this generation is meant to see the greatest revival ever that will lead all men into Zion! Hallelujah
This is God's intent for the last days! And for this to happen God will pour out his Spirit to this effect in other to facilitate the fulfillment of the above word and so in the last days,
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call". For this great revival to occur God will pour out His Spirit afresh and therefore the more will move into the last days the more God will pour out His Spirit upon this generation! Prophetically, therefore, this generation ought to see an overflow of the anointing and God's power such as has never been seen before!
However, the devil also has an agenda for the last days and the scripture reveal this:
"Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time" Revelation 12:12 KJV
The devil knows he has a short time so the more years we count in the history of humanity the more wicked the devil will become. The truth is the days we are in are the days of the devil's GREAT WRATH and in this time of period the devil will do more wickedly!
Hence we are talking about a generation that we see more pandemics, more evils, more wickedness than any that has ever gone before it and hence the need to cultivate depth in the power of God!
There are no generational excuses for powerlessness for God's word and his power transcends every generation and is the same for every generation!. This generation, whatever they are called are said to be the thinking generation, the innovative generation and what have you. However, this generation must also be the power generation less it will be crushed by the devil without mercy! This generation from prophetic insights of scriptures is posed to see the greatest evil and danger no other generation has faced! And yet this same generation is posed to see the greatest manifestation of God's power and awakening that no other one has seen, the difference is in how we apply ourselves to God's word and his power!
There is a tension here as the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil battles hard for the soul of this generation! And so we see other characteristics of these last days,
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth". 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 7 KJV
This was Paul writing to Timothy, and here he was speaking of the evils and deception that we beset men in the last days. Perilous days are ahead and despite the perils of the days to come men will still become a lover of themselves, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. They will have a form of godliness, showing that they are religious people, but will deny the power of God!
No better words describe our generation of believers today: " lovers of pleasures more than of God", "having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof". We have a generation that will prefer the online church to the real assembly of God's people! Why? It's all because of pleasure! Sit down at home on the bed, while streaming service!
This has never been the idea of God for his church: fellowship, intimacy is the lifeblood of every family including the church! Indeed it has never been God's idea and ideal for humanity and that's why this isolationism that is been created by the love of technology and accelerated by the fear of diseases and viruses are the schemes of the devil! The church must rise in this hour to counter the devil's plan!
In days like this when the world has shut down, the internet and technology have become a great tool to keep people connected to the world and receive the word of God! Where I have an issue is when people begin to believe this will be the future of the church!
The church is a family of God on the earth, and no family no matter the advancement in technology, will ever do family by meeting only online! Technology is meant to ease the operations of the church, not change its operation. God will not change his ways, there is power where two or three are gathered together in his name hence he said in Hebrews 10:25 that we should not forsake our assembly! And Hebrews 12:24-25 talks of other benefits that come when we gather in Zion!
There is a spiritual energy that is generated when believers come together under one roof singing the praises of our God, praying and receiving his word. There is a release of such tremendous power that shakes the earth to its root and provide a spiritual platform and atmosphere for God's will to be done on the earth! The devil is afraid of this power, this power rattles the devil's plan on the earth! Hence the devil will likely devise more pandemics in the future, isolate people through the philosophy of social distancing and keeps us addicted to the internet that we have no need for our fellow human beings! That is why in the days of these shut down I have preferred the home church to the online church! There is a power that is generated when we meet together in oneness of heart, spirit and body(Psalm 133:1-3)
This is a generation that has exalted intellectualism, humanism, and by extension satanism in all its subtle disguises and ramifications! Hence we see a generation of believers questioning the power of God! We see a generation that will put the use of their sense above the use of their spirit! And yet even quantum physicists argue that what our eyes and mind can capture in the physical are less than 1% of what the whole world is made of. Indeed a great scientist name Nikola Tesla said,
‘The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of our existence.’
What science cannot capture is what we can capture by the Spirit of God! (1 Corinthians 2:9-10) And yet we have a generation that wants what makes sense over what agrees with the Spirit. It's the reason why we have a generation of believers who are so quick to bash the men of God over their lives but celebrate the technological gurus of their days! Teaching your people to prepare for the end times, for the rapture, for the antichrist, for the second coming of the Lord, is evil, it's an error, it's seen by this generation as making the church afraid! You see, it sounds plausible, it has a form of godliness in its explanations and justification but it's a clear denial of the power of God!
