Stay safe is probably the most used words now apart from coronavirus or covid-19. And staying safe in this context means: staying at home. Staying at home also include: staying away from your neighbours, no contact, no greeting. But that is not the end, staying safe also include staying away from yourself: washing your hands, don't touch your eyes, nose or ears! That's asking a lot you know when averagely scientist says an average human being touches their faces about 3000 times a day! The whole feeling is like that of being a prisoner to oneself all because we want to keep safe. But as much as we try to stay safe only one person keeps safe and that is where your trust should be as a believer, for him that keepeth you neither sleeps nor slumber!
Psalm 121:2.4 says, "My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep"
Trusting in God is the surest way out of any conflict in a life because unlike the world, our God is not confused. His promises are yea and amen! Fixed! Unchanging! Reliable! How can I trust the so-called instructions that are been handed out? They are too conflicting! First they say to put on protective masks? Again don't put it on it's only for health workers! The argument is still ongoing on this. Covid-19 is aerosol! , No it is not aerosol! Even at the beginning of this crisis the WHO is supposedly charged with the responsibility of keeping the world in later and safe, first, they said covid isn't a contagion, only to say later it's a contagion! Too many conflicting theories, instructions and what have you! And if as a believer that is where your trust is then you have lost your cutting edge! For he that trust in the arm of flesh will not see when good cometh from the Lord!
"Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lor. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited" Jeremiah 17:5-6 KJV
Thank God for World Health Organisation, despite all its works it cannot keep the world safe, but someone can keep his own safe through the storms and trials, his name is JESUS! Today I represent Jesus Health Organisation (JHO)! His instructions are fixed and reliable and he is saying to you his children, STAY SPIRITUAL, stay focused, for as long as you look to the word and not look to the storm you will be safe! You can ask Peter of this when his eyes shifted from the Lord to the storm he sank there and then!
Stay spiritual because our cutting edge is our spiritual connection and authority! But this will only apply to you if you are a spirit full believer and not a sense full one! This will appeal to you if your Bible wasn't a literature book to you in the first place but a spiritual book full of God's wisdom and power! Because today we have a generation of believers who are led more by their sense than more than their spirit! It’s the reason for the powerlessness of the church
Romans 8:14 tells us, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God"
Submitting to the leadership of the Holy Spirit is what gives you authority!
But if you read earlier in Romans 8:5-8 the Bible tells us,
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh,; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God"
Those who submit to the flesh cannot walk in the Spirit. Those who are carnally minded cannot keep a spiritual perspective! Keeping a spiritual perspective when everybody is saying and doing the same thing is what gives you an edge as a son of God!
And fast forward in that book of Romans to verse 19-21 we are told that these sons of God who are not carnally minded, ruled by their flesh, but have submitted to the leadership of the Holy Spirit will rise up in the world's greatest hour of need and exercise the authority of the Spirit for the liberty of the world!
"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God" Romans 8:19-21 KJV
The sons of God are raised up for the liberation of the world. This is our calling and our destiny. But reading further in verse 23 to 27 you will see that the sons of God also suffers what the world suffer, we are not without pains, oblivious to the reality in the world, no! But in our pains we don't turn to the system of the world or the senseful theories it propounds, rather in our infirmities we allow the Spirit of God to pray through us until we happen on the solution that will bring the liberty to ourselves and to the world.
"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:22-23, 26-27 KJV
From the foregoing what authenticates our Sonship is our spiritual connection and authority as given to us by the Holy Spirit! The true sons of God are those led by the Spirit and not by their sense for when we walk in our sense we are not better than the world!
Don't you see the generation of believers we have? It's all about the sense! Imagine the present day believers been the followers of Jesus when he gave some "senseless instructions" in John 2, asking them to take water to the governor? The shout would have been like and clear: it doesn't make sense! Once something happens the first recourse as a child of God is 'what are you saying Spirit of God?'. That should always be the first reaction! How we have lost that, today believers just like the world, ask the question, does it make sense?
Too much sense has dull our spiritual cutting edge and has hindered the flow of the power of God! It's no wonder that our language is not different from those of the world!
It's why I don't tell people to stay safe, no! I tell them to stay faith-ful. I tell them to stay thankful and today I am telling you to stay spiritual! It’s why I am writing the STAY series under this COVID SERIES, does that make sense? I just smile at that. God's word today is STAY SPIRITUAL!
When our thoughts are spiritual our conversation will also be spiritual!
Our language must be different from the language of the world! The language of the world may transmit fear ours must transmit faith! The language of the world may be cautious, we must be bold! We must speak with an understanding of our royal heritage and authority, enough of this ‘wimpish’ conversation!
"Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this person shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear nor be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself, and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread". Isaiah 8:12-13 KJV
We are not to fear what the world fears, neither are we allowed to say what the world is saying! We are of royal heritage and lineage; our words must convey power and authority. (1 Peter 2:9)
Stay safe? No, I am not trying to stay safe, I am already safe! What did Psalm 91:1-2 says?
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the highest shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust"
Those who dwell in the secret place are dwelling in the safest place on the earth and when you dwell in the safest place you are not trying to stay safe you are already safe!
And when you know you are safe, your language will show it! That's why in verse the Psalmist says, " I WILL SAY OF THE LORD, HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS". Hallelujah, that's a bold declaration of a man that is safe!
When you are saying stay safe, it's because you know that you are not safe when you know you are safe and hidden in the hollow of his hands you won't say stay safe, you will know you are already safe!
What I am writing may not make sense, yes it won't, that is the essence of this discourse, it's not sense, it's of the spirit! I am not STAYING SAFE, I am already SAVE and SAFE! I am not just saying it I know it! For Ephesians 2:1-6 tells me
"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" Ephesians 2:5-6 KJV
And in this heavenly place I am far above principalities and powers, sickness and disease and every elemental force of the world! In heavenly places, there is no room for Satan or any bacteria or any virus!
"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven" Revelation 12:7-8 KJV
This is where I am staying; Satan and his cohorts have no place there!
Citizens of the heavenly places are not trying to stay safe they are already safe!
