Cool Verse for the Day
This verse came to mind when I was looking for another verse. I kind of had it jumbled with the other one. Anyway, I think it's so cool.
Isaiah 26:3
3 You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.
Isn't perfect peace what we all want? And here we find out that all we have to do to have perfect peace is steadfastly trust in the Lord. Why is that so hard to do? I'm really bad about trying to solve situations that arise in my life first before turning to God.
It's kind of like when my Beagle comes in for the night and I'm refilling her water bowl. She knows it's time to eat and that I'm going to feed her, but instead of waiting on me to fill her bowl up, she jumps through hoops trying to get to the food herself. It's in this big plastic storage container. She tries to knock it over and when that doesn't work, you can see the wheels turning in her head..."If I chew the latch off of this thing, then I can get to the food!" When all along all she has to do is trust me that if she gives me a few minutes, I'm going to undo the latch for her and provide her with what she needs. Haven't I proven myself? I've never let her go hungry.
It's the same with God. We get so focused on wanting what we want immediately (answers to what we should do in important life decisions, money to pay the bills, healing, etc) that we forget that God has never let us down. He is trustworthy.
