But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them
The western church is sleeping, but our enemy never sleeps. He has a 24/7 military operation which is waging war against God and His people to win the hearts and minds of every person on the planet. His troops are untold millions of supernatural, super intelligent beings who are enslaved to his will, who are completely bent on corrupting and controlling every heart and destroying every life. They are energized and equipped to wage unending war against us, in every facet of our lives that they can get their claws on.
Our enemy has his hands on every sphere of human existence; politics, religion, military, media, science, education, business and industry, entertainment..there is nothing too important or unimportant in this world that the enemy does not have some influence and control over. He leverages this influence and control primarily to program people to believe his lies; anything other than what is true and real. It is through the lies that people believe that he controls them. Lies are his greatest weapon and the people who believe them are his greatest resource. He brings all of this to bear through material and supernatural means.
His power has always been overwhelming to mere mortals, but never more so in this age. His ability to influence and control people has never been greater. The interconnectedness of society through technology, through media, entertainment and the internet has worked greatly to his advantage. He uses all of it, efficiently marshaling his resources for the maximum impact, bringing a continuous torrent of ungodliness into the society. He shoots arrows of corruption into the hearts of our youths at a greatly accelerated rate, exposing them to ideas and concepts they normally wouldn’t be exposed to until much later. With multiple billions who don’t know the Lord, he has never had more people on his side.
If you are not a Christian then you are already his slave. If you are a Christian, then you are currently under siege by every weapon and power that he has at his disposal. Somewhere in hell there is a list of every single Christian on Earth and a plan custom tailored to destroy them. From the strongest to the weakest, every single one is a priority because of one simple reason; Jesus Christ in them. He knows there is real power there to undo every deception that he has; to wake people up and bring them to Jesus Christ.
You see, the Devil believes that God can use you to mess up his plans. Do you believe it? He doesn’t attack anything that isn’t a threat to him. Do you know that you are a threat to him?
Matthew 5:14
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden
We know from John 1 that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it. You are indeed a threat to the enemy and he wants to keep you ignorant of that fact. He wants to keep you fat and happy in his matrix of pleasures so that you never comprehend the power of God working in your life.
I know that we should not focus on our enemy, but on the Lord. We have great encouragement from the scriptures:
Ephesians 1:19-21
and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come
The power of the enemy is nothing in comparison to Christ, but this fact alone does not prevent us from getting ensnared by the devils deceptions. We can know Christ is greater but still live like the world and be controlled by our lusts. Paul said we are not ignorant of his devices, and we shouldn’t be. Ignorance is not bliss in the kingdom of God. We must understand our enemy and more importantly, how to fight Him. We learn quite a bit of that in Ephesians 6, also Hebrews 4:12 and 2 Corinthians 10:5
Church we need to wake up. The temptation to sit back and do nothing while the world passes us by has never been greater. It is so easy to create your own little world and stay there, constantly indulging your pleasures even through inherently innocent means like music and reading (anything but the bible). This is the state of unawareness and lethargy that the enemy has been carefully building in the church for decades. He is programming Christians to be spiritually ineffective and unaware of the greater levels of commitment to God that He requires. Please pray that God would reveal those deeper levels to you, and the pride and self-indulgence that has creeped into your life through lethargy and pursuing your pleasures. Pray for me as well beloved. We can do all things, including defeating the enemy, through Christ who strengthens us!
