Christian Love

By Quasiblogo, Feb 20, 2020 | |
  1. This thing called “Christian Love”
    Has me drawn to a different thing
    Than we’re raised on in the country
    No longer “I”, in my land, but a solid “we”

    Now, the silence of the morning
    Calls my mind to offer lauds {1}
    Before the rooster calls just one time
    Others join my praise to the Three-in-One {2}

    Now, this thing’s a living anthem
    Love on our lips, kiss the Son {3}
    in a brotherhood expression*
    Look at what the orphans inherited! {4}

    {2} The testimony of the saints’ praise is the opposite of denying our Lord Jesus. Consider Matthew 26:34 (EHV) ~ Jesus said to him, “Amen I tell you: Tonight before the rooster crows you will deny me three times”

    {3} Remember Psalms 2:12 (EHV) ~ Kiss the Son, or he will be angry, and you will be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. How blessed are all who take refuge in him. This is the opposite of Judas' kiss of betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane, portrayed in Matthew 26:47-49 (EHV) ~ While Jesus was still speaking, suddenly Judas (one of the Twelve) arrived. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now the betrayer had given them a sign: “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him.” Immediately he went to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him

    {4} The blessing of reading Matthew 19:29 (EHV) ~ Everyone who has left homes or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, because of my name, will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life

    * I like these lyrics from the song below: “Painting a word in my love song for You, and You know together we can make it through. I can hear you laughing, I can see you smile so easy in my dreams”. These words plumb the depths of both Christian fellowship and the individual’s walk with God. The words remind me of Zephaniah 3:17 (EHV): "The Lord your God is with you as a hero who will save you. He takes great delight in you. He will quiet you with his love. He will rejoice over you with singing"
