Chapter 5

The Scroll and the Lamb

Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne
A book written within and on the backside
Sealed with seven seals

The seven seals are so that only the seven angels are able to open the book. These
openings. And the occurrences that takes place with each, is given at the time an angel opens the seal.

The angels are the messengers of God. Each messenger was sent to an appropriate church at the time of each event. John was told: The time was at hand. So why do so many take these events out of their proper time?

Rev 5:2-5 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice
Who is worthy to open the book
And to loose the seals thereof

Isa 29:10-11 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers has He covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray You: and he said, I cannot; for it is sealed:

Dan_12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Rev 5:3 And no man in heave
Nor in earth
Neither under the earth
Was able to open the book
Neither to look thereon

Only the Lord Jesus Christ had maintained His obedience to His God, thereby being given the position which allowed for Him to open the seals which had kept the writing from being read.

Rev 5:4 And I wept much
Because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book
Neither to look thereon

Now John with his spiritual understanding had no way to comprehend that book and had to be told that it would take Jesus to read it. This then is an instruction that man should not interpret what he does not understand to be a pure spiritual truth.

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders said unto Me

Weep not
Behold
The Lion of the tribe of Judah

The Root of David
Has prevailed to open the book
And to loose the seven seals thereof

Notice the sentence: Has prevailed to open The Book

Only Jesus through His strick obedience to His God was given the authority to release what was written in this book of Revelations. Do men today understand it better than the Lord did? Hardly. This book should be approached with prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to understand correctly what was written in it and for whom it was written. Those who have chosen to put airplanes and other things of man into this writing cause GREAT ERROR.

It should also be noted that the apostle Paul never talked of this book. If he did not find it to be fitting for his ministry to the Gentiles and converted Jews, then why does man today keep trying to make it say what it does not say?

Rev 5:6 And I beheld and lo
In the midst of the throne
And of the four beasts
And in the midst of the elders

Stood a Lamb as it had been slain
Having seven horns and seven eyes
Which are the seven Spirits of God
Sent forth into all the earth

In the above is used: into all the earth. It is very common for the average reader to take this word earth, and read it as Earth, the planet. This is not however what it is saying. The problem is in the word earth, itself. There is the earth, the land on the planet of Earth. And there is the earth, a particular land on the planet earth. This is also what causes many wrong translations in the Book of Genesis. The word earth, as used here, is a given land or area of the Earth. The seven Spirits of God were sent unto His people Israel. First to Israel and Judeah, then last, to the Jews in Judeah. Again, this book is centered on the Jews and not the Gentiles whom Paul was sent to give the word of Christ and His God.

Rev 5:7-12 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne -- Right hand, the place of high honor.

And when He had taken the book
The four beasts

And twenty four elders
Fell down before the Lamb
Having every one of them harps

And golden vials full of odors
Which are the prayers of saints

The four beast. the ones of creative work. Took the book to reveal the creative work which was about to be revealed to John and the seven churches.

Here again it is seen to whom this book was written to; to John and the seven churches in Asia.

Rev 5:9-10 And they sung a new song

Saying
You are worthy to take the book
And to open the seals thereof
For You were slain

And have redeemed us to God
By Your blood out of every kindred (families, relatives, relations)
And language (tongue)
And people
And nation

And have made Us unto our God
Kings and priests
And we shall reign on the earth

The only ones who were kings and priest on this Earth was those of Israel. So here again this writing is pointing only to Israel; not the entire world of people.

Rev 5:11-12 And I beheld,
And I heard the voice of many angels
Round about the throne
And the beasts
And the elders

And the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand
And thousands of thousands

Saying with a loud voice
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

1-To receive power
2-And riches
3-And wisdom
4-And strength
5-And honor
6-And glory
7-And blessing

Seven items given; seven, the number of spiritual perfection.

Rev 5:13 And every creature

Which is in heaven
And on the earth
And under the earth

And such as are in the sea
And all that are in them

Heard I saying

1-Blessing
2-And honor
3-And glory
4-And power

Be unto Him that sits upon the throne
And unto the Lamb for ever and ever

Rev 5:14 And the four beasts said
Amen

And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped Him that lives for ever and ever

Herein is what was accomplished by Jesus Christ obedience to His Father. This gives the true believer what to hope in if they follow the way of Jesus Christ obedience unto His God, and Our God.
To take these scriptures out of their true context and make them apply to some false story bears with it much judgment with the Lord. It is prayed that these writings will be of a help in the path of the true believers journey in understanding the writings in the Bible Scriptures.
Of course there in much, much,more to be understood. What is given in this Blog is only a steeping stone for those who need help.
