Mysteries Of Adoption

When we carefully observe the present human age and what has happened since the fall. We truly marvel in dealing with the Mystery of Adoption. That us, wretched creatures, can become sons and daughters of the Most High God. Not only are we given new natures, new desires, new heritage, new inheritance, new everything. But we have a new Master and God whereby we cry out through the Spirit, "Abba, Father." All of this we receive freely because of God's goodness and mercy. It was His love that can bring unlovable creatures to become His own. demonstrating that "where sins abound, grace abounds all the more." For what is deeper and stronger than the grace and almightiness of our God? And so Paul confidently communicates that nothing "shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Speaking here to the believers because Paul explicitly states "our Lord."

Romans 8 is great, but it is not for unbelievers. They do not inherit the blessings of God. It is there for His children. That is wonderful for if we are not His sons, we can not receive our rightful inheritance. The Father loves the world, yes He does, but He also one day will judge the world! He, however, will glorify His sons and daughters! He will give them the kingdom of heaven! "And these will go away into eternal punishment and the righteous into eternal life," Christ said.

Perhaps the greatest truths from this Mystery is that we receive God as our Father. We get to call God, "our Father." The same One that dwells in unapproachable light is now our Father. Who holds the universe in the palm of His hand and knows all the sands and stars that ever exists. He keeps His children as the apple of His eyes always, even when we sleep, "He does not slumber nor sleep." This is a blessed hope for even in the darkest of the storms that we face through and when we go into secret prayer, He gives us His presence to witness to us that we are His. What blessed hope! Spurgeon once said, "You may fear that the Lord has passed you by, but it is not so: He who counts the stars and calls them by their names, is in no danger of forgetting His own children. He knows your case through and through as if you were the only creature He ever made, or the only saint He ever loved. Approach Him and be at peace."

Isn't it marvelous? That no matter what kind of parents we might've grown up in, we receive the best Father that is in this entire universe? Surely, some of us might've been injured by our own parents and lost trust in them, but you can trust in Him! And all of this not because anything we merit but because of His mercy? Of His love in sending His son to die so that He might become the Firstfruits of many? Maybe there are those who have grown distant and never received the warm welcoming love of the Father which always welcomes us into His Presence and will never cast us off, but it is true! He wants us to come to Him, He cries out against the people through Jeremiah, "My people have forgotten Me days without numbers."

And again He questions, "What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me, have followed idols, and have become idolaters?" Let us run to the arms of the Father, it is better to hide there than in any place. It is your inheritance, don't wait to get to heaven to begin a deep relationship with Him. Any fool could do that. It doesn't take much then because you won't have another option with your idols. But you see, Christ rejected those who came to Him on that Last Day not because of their works, but because He did not know them. "I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness."

To know God, we must spend time with Him. May God have mercy on us, I can speak more on this great mystery by the Grace of God. Yet I will save so for another time. Let us come and ask for mercy from Him. We've been far from Him far too long, we must be mindful of our Holy Father. Who is ever patient and merciful to His children. Glory to our God. He loves you beloved, dearly. He doesn't want your things, He doesn't need your things. He wants time spent with you. He will teach you, ask of Him. Draw to Him, and bless Him. Don't come with haughty looks but in humble submission come and adore Him. Even in seeking Him, He gives us this wonderful promise. "He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." That is His goodness, His perfect loving-kindness to His children. He hears you and cares for you, more than everyone. He knows your hurt and wants to take it out of your life. Remember His promise in Isaiah the 49th chapter? "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee!"

Christ Jesus has made a way into the Presence of the Father. No longer calling Him as the prophets of old did as LORD. For we can call Him, Dad, Papa. It's true, and you know, He delights more in the faith of the simple than with big words and no heart. Christ shed His blood, not that you may have a big car or a nice house or a big kitchen. He was crucified, crucified! So that you, too, may get to know His God. That His God may be our God and His Father, Ours. Christ resurrected now and is risen at the right hand of the Father to intercede for those who would dare come. It is a different life, for when you are taken up as His, you are set apart. You can't do and walk as the world walks, He will chasten and discipline. "For whom He loves, He chastens." Have you surrendered to Him? He is not expecting perfection out of you, He will teach you. Turn from your worldly pleasures and things that are sinful. Turn to Him, ask Him to make you His. May God hears and does it for you, no matter what it might take. Amen.
