Avoiding Futility

If we see ourselves as good or righteous (even though Jesus asks who is good) we lose sight of the fact we are self serving humans who often seek gain at the expense of others. In remembering who we are by nature until death, we see what a futile world we have made in our own image, and can more readily accept the counter-culture of the Kingdom as the proper 'Way', swearing our allegiance to that instead as the better system.

It was purely by the grace of God that He gave us an alternative to death and that is the Kingdom to come for the resurrected that pass muster. Personal salvation through the Kingdom is up to the individual as to which path, world of man or Kingdom, our allegiance is given to. Allegiance to the world which man has made in our image, and we grow in that direction and further away from the Kingdom. Allegiance to the Kingdom, we grow in that direction and further away from the world of man and becoming anti-establishment.

Our new belief is a result of our discovery that the self serving ways of man are backwards and lead to all the troubles in this world... then rejecting it (repentance). So belief in the opposite system is essential, especially to become a part of it when it one day comes to fruition.

Thy will, not mine. Reversal of the default attitude of man. We need to be willing to put God's will ahead of our own.
Long live the counter-culture of the Kingdom. Down with the Establishment created by man.
