It is late, 10.30pm and I can't think of going to bed. My son has problems dealing with his cancer, and is having trouble sleeping. His prayer team at church are busy this week and he really needs prayer so it is me and the forum. For spiritual rest and peace, I feel he is finding things far too difficult and Jesus gives rest and peace. Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matt:11, 28 I have found some more books on foods to eat while having chemo'...

A warm night and at 1.53am; I am awake...but it isn't a problem, I can pray for the forum, my son, all my family, for the Father's blessing, and for his work in their lives to bring them closer to him. Christmas preparations are progressing, more shopping to be done tomorrow, mainly food for my daughter's family coming on Christmas day. Seeing my precious son and his family when we visit them after Christmas...so looking forward to that. We had a good carol service at church on the 18th...

...and it is 2.18am...hot cocoa and a couple of biscuits...I may have another go at sleeping. Not a problem as everyone gets prayed for while I lie awake, especially my son... so bless the Lord; It has been one of those bright, sparkly Autumn days, the hills have been beautiful and it is such a blessing to live in the foothills of the pennines.

Praise the LORD, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name! Praise the LORD, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies; who satisfies your desire with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103: 1-5 Had an interesting afternoon sorting through music for Sunday morning, and also...
  5. today is Tuesday

A day to remember, a verse to remember, Jeremiah 15:16 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty. We have been looking at all the poppies, a sea of poppies, round the tower of London on the television. So amazing and so many young people who lost their lives and so many families that were grieving when they never returned home after the first world war. It...

Psalm 4:8 NKJV "I will lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." I had a full night's sleep last night! didn't wake up once and I feel so much better. It is a grey day today, which isn't a problem as the house is warm and cosy. Housework done, and now I must sort out some music for the Remembrance service on Sunday. I see the vicar has chosen the 'Navy hymn' for the recessional, Eternal Father strong to save. Psalm 107 inspired the author, William...
  7. 2nd November 2014 Sunday

A day of hope; Home from the visit to my son and his family, yes, so good to see my little granchildren. My husband and I saw the specialist who will look after my son's treatment and I was content. My son slept quite a lot while we were there and has lost weight, but first thing in the morning he seemed almost back to normal, although it didn't last very long and then he was tired again. The Autumn weather was beautiful, and we all went tramping through the forest, crunchy leaves, blue...
  8. Decisions today

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, I choose life for myself and my son! "To the God I LOVE, THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME!" I walk by faith, not by sight. In Jesus name, Amen

  10. A better day

A heart filled with thanks today, I never thought I'd get out of that pit of dispair but here I am. Looking forward to seeing the family tomorrow, all packed and ready to go. Praying for strength to pray and trust God with the future.
  11. today

A difficult day and still stunned at the news from my son; Pancreatic cancer and just a few years to live. He looks so well and strong, it just doesn't seem right, and two young children and a lovely wife. The Lord knows and today I was reminded that Mary wept and was filled with grief when her son died on the cross. Thank you Lord that you know and understand our sorrows.
  12. today

Today: I am waiting for a phone call from my son; how is he? being sent home from hospital which is great for all the family...praise God! He sent me some lovely verses last evening; Psalm 37:3-6 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the...
