It has been said that without faith the baptism is meaningless as it would just be a wet sinner and no transformation, the ideas of christianity are also meaningless without trust in God ... there's been a wave lately, trying to tell me that the text is placed before the Holy Spirit ... when the holy spirit is mentioned as a means of guidance ... the responses seem to indicate that in their perception the holy spirit doesn't seem to exist and any mention of spirit guidance seems to equate to any number of heresies.

So have now the doctrines of men been placed before the guidance of God?

I meet a lot of atheists making fun of people and myself who believe in God ... and their reasoning seems to indicate they were part of a church once... and recent conversations on the forum have reminded me of them ... the correlation seems a little too obvious.
