An Unquenchable Thirst For God

"And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”" (Exodus 33:18 NKJV)

Though God Himself called and commissioned Moses, he (Moses) was a man of unquenchable thirst for God. He was consecrated to God and Him alone. He mastered the act of pressing on to the next level in his walk with God.
In the text above, God had just finish granting his request and He promised them His abiding presence. I would have been satisfied with such a wonderful promise from God, but not Moses, he seemed to be saying "God thank You for Your willingness to go with us, but please take me further in Yourself, I need to behold Your glory". This is very striking! How often we settle when God brought us into a level, but in His heart there is yet another level He is willing to launch us.
Earlier in Exodus 20:21
"So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was." (Exodus 20:21 NKJV). God wanted to have a direct relationship with the Israelites, they shrinked from it but the man, Moses, drew near and entered into God's presence.
"He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel." (Psalms 103:7 NKJV). David reported, by the Holy Spirit, that whereas the children of Israel were contented with God's wondrous acts, Moses was not satisfied with miracles, he requested and received God's ways and wills in everything.
God wants us to go beyond seeking miracles. He is eager and willing to reveal His ways and wills to us.

ACTION PLAN: Desire today and always never to be satisfied with miracles but to seek God's ways and wills.

PRAYER: Father, create in me an unquenchable thirst for You.
