Advent Calendar

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since this blog had any new posts - I took a longer break from projects than I expected. But now I'd like to show you something new!

I finished making a fabric Advent calendar last night.

It's made from two different flannel fabrics with 25 pockets to put a small item or candy in and a ribbon handle to hang it up with. The numbers and letters are shiny gold paint, and a little bit of colored glitter was used to decorate the last few pockets.
The calendar was sewn by machine and is about 24 in. long by 17 in. wide (about 61 cm long by 43 cm wide) not including the handle.

Christian meaning for this work: Advent calendars are a fun way to count down the days to Christmas as we look forward to it. Let's also look forward to becoming closer to God in our lives, and remember to look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ this Christmas season, the reason for Advent!
