A Self-seeking Heart

"But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness. There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile." (Romans 2:8‭-‬9 NLT)

A life being lived for self cannot please God. The life of flesh is contrary to God and His purpose. The Lord has reserved His wrath for everyone living to please themselves. How are you faring in this my friend? Are you always seeking comfort and pleasure for yourself? Are you planning your life outside God? Repent today, God is not happy with you.
Time and time again you turn your heart against the truth. You trampled on it and silenced your conscience. The wrath of God is hanging on your head. Repent today! God is calling you into a regenerated life, a life eternal. He has prepared to a holy life for you. He desires that you serve His purpose.
"He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them." (2 Corinthians 5:15 NLT)
Jesus came to die for you and purchased a new life that pleases God. The new life empowers you to live above pleasing yourself. You will then receive power to live for Christ.
If you hear His voice this day, harden not your heart. Repent from every self-seeking tendencies and receive a new heart that pleases the Father always.

ACTION PLAN: Today is the day of repentance, renounce the self-seeking life and ask the Lord Jesus to take His residence in you.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, today I renounce every tendency to please myself, I confess it as a sin. Remove the self-seeking heart and give me the heart of Jesus.
