A Prayer For Our Leaders And Our Nation
2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. —1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV)
LORD, bless all or our political leaders and elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels. Our citizens put them in office to govern, under the laws of our land, and YOUR laws too, from which our nation derives it's moral code, on how to treat one another in a civil society. LORD, we pray to intercede for our leaders: that they would know God and be faithful servants to Him; that God would grant them wisdom, surrounding them with counsel whom are believers in Christ and followers of Jesus; that they would boldly and courageously stand in the face of evil, whilst not backing away from righteousness; and give them ears that they plainly hear God's instruction and vision to see His plan and strategies. LORD, search the hearts of our leaders, hear our prayers, guide them unto the wisdom and lovingkindness of God. LORD, we also pray for God's people to turn back to Him—in great numbers. In the power of the Holy Spirit. May God's will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.
