A Little Word On Storms(4)

A foundation built on the word is what guarantees our victory in the world. A foundation built on the word is what guarantees our victory through the storms. Jesus has some word on the storms of life and how to deal with them when they do come. We have this parable in Matthew 7:24-27. Is there any scripture so direct and profound in dealing with the storms of life? Let's read.

'Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it'

The word foundation is the sure foundation! When we are rooted in the word we cannot be uprooted by the storms! Our footing is sure, our standing is secure, we are anchored to the word hence we cannot be shaken by the storms! Hallelujah! The word is the anchor for our soul through every storm of life. Jesus parable illustrated that vividly here. But the master didn't just leave us with just a parable, he demonstrated how this works in real life situations!

Mark 4:37-39, "And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm"

Faced with the storm, Jesus arose from his sleep, spoke the word and the storms ceased! We don't watch the storms of life drags on, no, we address the storms with the word because there is a rhema for every storm. Here Jesus spoke the rhema, 'peace be still' and that was all the storm needed to hear, it became still! Every storm in your life now is hearing the word of God now! Amen!

The revealed word is the answer to every persisting storm!

There is a rhema for every storm! This much we see illustrated in Psalm 107:18-20 where the people call unto God in their distresses and he answered them by sending his word, and with that word they were able to overcome the storms! For every trouble in the world, there is an answer in the word!

'Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions'(PSALM 107:17-20)

For long Joseph was held back by trials, tribulations and a storm that seems won't go away, it was from one problem to another. He remained so for long in his predicament until there was a word alignment - his word came and the storm ceased! The king sent for him, to lose him and to let him go! With the word, he overcomes the storm and much more he began to dominate his world.

"Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance" (Psalm 105:19-21).

The revealed word is the answer to every persisting storm! The revealed word silences every persisting storm!
