A Little Word On Storms(2)

Even before the battles are waged the outcome have been decided in our favor: victory on every side! This informs the popular statement that in spiritual warfare we are not fighting for victory we are fighting from victory. Consider these scriptures.

Deuteronomy 2:24, "Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle"

Here the scripture tells us our victory in this battle is a mere formality. And this was the same tune sounded in by Jesus when he gave these reassuring words in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

For every storm that will ever come there is assurance of victory and peace!

2 Corinthians 2:11, "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place".

In Christ, our victory in every crisis is guaranteed!

I could add scriptures after scriptures that point to the reality of our victory that was secured for us by reason of our standing in Christ. This is the positional truth about our victory in Christ. But there is one more salient truth we need to know about our victory in the midst of every spiritual hostility! There is a spiritual sense and perspective we need to see through when the storms of life come our way and we found this in the following scripture!

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13)

There is no temptation beyond our ability to bear. In other words, no spiritual hostility is beyond our spiritual capacity!
