As I am in the process of putting down all the steps towards my (Hopeful) Ordination training, I thought I would chronicle how I am getting on!
Well -Yesterday I was part of a lovely service - I was commissioned as a Worship Leader - There were about 12 of us in all - from different parishes - It was great to see them all again, see how they were getting on etc.
After the service I got a chance to speak about what was going on in my Parish of St Michaels and also to the other Priests in the Diocese about where I was up to in my selection process.
It was great and I really felt the support! Before Sunday I was (admittedly only on here! lol) worried about the future as my Vicar (the FANTASTIC Canon Evans) is retiring in the end of Jan and I was just feeling in limbo abit.
In the morning when I entered Church the Reader and her Hubbie (John and Sylvia Harris - Great people) came over to me and told me that they had spoken to the Vicar and felt I should have a base and that they would offer to be that support - I was really so shocked as it was just what I was praying about the night before! (puts 'Honest to God' book to shame lol)
That plus the evening commissioning has made me feel so much more relaxed and I can finally carry on with my study (which I need to do!)
This weekend is going to be FAB - I am going down to the College which I will be attending if I get through the last panel. Its down in Cardiff (St Michaels Theological College) which is about 400miles away but I am so excited - Well abit nervous too! lol
Its for a vocational course - two days at the College and then back home to study with a tutor and follow a Priest around for 4 weeks. It will be intensive but I am sure it will be a real eye opener!
Anyway thats about it - I'm not leaving without saying THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT - its like having a host of angels behind me! I know its a long process which sends me on a rollercoaster journey but without the odd comment from you I couldn't even have got this far!
Did you know - I searched out the letter from my Vicar that started the whole process today - it was dated Dec 2006!
take care my friends and prayers to those of my friends who need them dearly (thats all of us isn't it?
)
