1 Timothy 2:1-4

Do you pray for President Trump and his administration? That's good. Do you likewise pray for Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar and all others in the government?

Paul says to Timothy; "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Notice please, the Apostle does not tell us to pray according to our political or social prejudices and determinations. Some leading figures in the Christian community seem to think that only Republicans and conservatives should be prayed for. They often fail to mention Democrats and liberals. Paul say ALL and he says it THREE times.

And what should our prayers for these people consist of? We might pray for such things as wisdom for our leaders. That's always good. Nevertheless we MUST pray for the revelation of God's truth to their minds and their subsequent redemption in Christ for, according to the passage, this is prayer that is acceptable to God.
